MVP - 2028 5’10” PG Kevin Mitchell - Rock Island High School (IL)

Kevin Mitchell was our no-brainer choice for Underclassman MVP.

The 5’10” point guard, set to play for Rock Island High School this season, had arguably the most impressive performance of the entire underclassman showcase.

Only a sophomore, Kevin showcased a rare combination of iso scoring ability, high basketball IQ, and unselfish play. He demonstrated the poise to lead as a playmaker and the intensity to take over as a high level scoring guard. His ability to control the pace and use his speed to beat slower defenders — or combinations of moves to shake quicker guards — sets him apart.

Kevin stood out from start to finish—winning the 1-on-1 tournament before displaying his full game in 5-on-5 competition, where he consistently led his team with confidence, composure, and creativity—scoring efficiently while setting up teammates for easy looks.
