NCAA Extends Recruiting Dead Period Through August 31

CORVID-19 continues to take its toll on college sports as the recruiting dead period is now extended to August 31, originally only until July 30.

“The most restrictive of all the recruiting periods is the NCAA Dead Period. During the dead period, coaches may not have any in-person contact with recruits and/or their parents. In other words, coaches are not allowed to talk to recruits at their college campus, the athlete’s school, an athletic camp or even the grocery store.”

In a traditional recruiting calendar, naturally occurring “dead periods” take place for the month of August, for one month starting with the early signing period (mid-December to mid-January), for the month of February beginning at the start of late signing period and from late June to late July.
