Malik Newman was the top SG in 2015. His quick trigger and elite scoring ability allowed him to get recruited by large schools from across the nation!
After receiving dozens of D1 offers, Newman would commit to stay home and attend his fathers alma mater, Mississippi State.
After the short stint with the bulldogs where he averaged 13.0 PPG, the SG would transfer to Kansas in hopes of a national championship run and to raise his draft stock.
He had a great Jayhawks career -- becoming a vital playmaker in the March Madness Tournament, and one of the leading scorers on the loaded 2017-18 Kansas squad.
He would average 14.4 PPG respectfully.
After a successful year at Kansas, Malik Newman would enter his name into the 2018 NBA Draft however, he would go un-drafted.
But.... Where is he now?
After dozens of tryouts and short runs with NBA G-League teams, Malik Newman finds himself currently playing on the Cleveland Cavs G- League team as he attempts to find his way back into the league.
