5 Nashville Boys Basketball Players To Watch This Upcoming Season!

The Nashville area is full of young and talented players. However there are a few that stand out:




Marvin Hughes - McGavock HS (2020)



We start our list with a top 5 ranked PG from the 2020 class; Marvin Hughes. Now a senior, Hughes has been starting varsity for the Raiders since his Freshman year. Not only has he been on the floor, he has also been accpslishing things most players don't get close to doing. Marvin finished his JUNIOR season with 1820 career points while averaging 28.2 PPG. Not only is he a stud on the court but a serious student in classroom; recently scoring a 32 on his ACT.


The 6'1 Guard currently holds an offer from East Tennessee State University.




 

Marcus Fitzgerald - Pearl Cohn HS (2020)



Marcus Fitzgerald Jr., the No. 8 prospect in Tennessee according to 247Sports, averaged 17.6 points, 4.0 rebounds and 2.7 assists in his first full season at Brentwood Academy.


Tennessee State commitment Marcus Fitzgerald Jr., a key piece to Brentwood Academy's Division II-AA boys basketball 2019 state runner-up team, has transferred.


Fitzgerald has left the Williamson County private school and is now enrolled at Pearl-Cohn in Nashville, his father, Marcus Fitzgerald Sr., told The Tennessean.The younger Fitzgerald has been granted a hardship by the TSSAA and is eligible to play for his senior season.


Look for him to make a huge impact this season and take the leadership role for the FireBirds.


 


Brandon Miller - Cane Ridge HS (2022)


A ESPN's #12 ranked player in class of 2022, we introduce Brandon Miller.


Miller stands at 6 foot and 8 inches tall as a freshman point/shooting guard for the Ravens varsity boys’ basketball team at Cane Ridge High School. He averaged 15 points, eight rebounds and four assists per game for the Ravens 20 – 9 record this past basketball season. He and the Ravens tied for the district regular season, finished third in the quarter basketball finals and placed third in the district tournament.


Miller Holds offers from Tennessee and more. Although being just a sophomore, we predict a break out year for the young guard. Keep an eye out for explosive dunks and exciting games as he leads the Ravens.




 

Ryan Wilcox - Hillsboro HS (2020)

The 6'5 F helped lead a young talented Hillsboro team to a 17-8, 2018-2019 record. Ryan is perhaps the most athletic player on our list. He has amazing speed, good agility, and can jump out of the gym.


He played under the grassroots team WHBH Adidas team out of Nashville, TN. Look for Wilcox to have a standout season as a key leader for the Burros.


He currently holds an offer from Florida College.



 


Isaiah Jones - East Nashville HS (2021)


The 6'6 2021 Guard was a key factor in East Nashville's successfully run last season. The Eagles finished with a record of 27-7. Jones is an athletic SG/SF with the ability to shoot the ball from long range, find players in transition and throw it down for big dunks on the break.


He played with Team Thad 16U last summer, the grassroots team out of west TN. Where he showed off his high energy play in front of college coaches. Keep an eye on him and the eagles going into the 2019-20 season.


Jones currently holds interest from Western Kentucky, Lipscomb, SIU, and more.
